Workshop Manager

Part of the LNT Group of companies, W2R are the front-end arm of Ginetta – responsible for operating all Ginetta track days, test days and both customer and internal service work.

The Role

The ideal candidate will have a professional, forward thinking and positive approach to managing all aspects of the W2R workshop and supporting team of mechanics and engineers. A clear communicator and can-do attitude with focus on quality of work carried out and excellence in customer service.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Professional presentation of track & race cars both mechanically & aesthetically at events
  • Manage workshop mechanics, engineers and sub contract support team
  • Manage internal & external work flow ensuring work carried out on time, on budget.
  • Stock control including ordering of parts and liaising with suppliers.
  • Record keeping including job sheets and customer invoicing.
  • Communicating with all customers to provide quotes and updates on work to their vehicle.
  • Responsible for all workshop related activity – including cleanliness and a safe working environment.
  • Support customers at track events including track days, testing and race weekends.

Key Skills:

  • Highly experienced mechanic including service, repairs, rebuilds and chassis dynamics.
  • Customer service focussed with good communication.
  • Hands on approach and good work ethic.
  • Excellent planner to manage flow of busy workshop and event calendar.
  • Presentable with attention to detail who takes pride in their work.
  • Team player with a passion for motorsport.

Additional Info:

  • Based predominantly at Blyton Park Circuit Lincolnshire, the candidate may also be required to work from Ginetta HQ in Garforth.
  • Weekend work as required to look after W2R’s rookie race series drivers. Fixed rate overtime paid.
  • Event work and travel essential as part of the role with valid passport required for European events and travel.
  • B+C or Class 1 or 2 driving licence advantage but not essential. Driver training provided for candidates looking to obtain their HGV licence.
  • 2-3 month induction period at Leeds with full training given.

  • Manage the parts dispatch team.
  • Proactively lead achievement of the department’s parts sales goals on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.
  • Suggest ways to improve sales (e.g. planning sales activities, changing department’s processes). 
  • Provide an accurate forecast for parts and rebuild sales on a monthly basis, write and issue reports.
  • “Go the extra mile” to drive sales.
     

Qualifications/Key Attributes:

  • Proven work experience in a sales role or order processing role.  
  • Motorsport industry experience is beneficial 
  • Excellent English communication skills 
  • Ability to manage a team 
  • A friendly and energetic personality with a customer service focus 
  • Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook) 
  • Sage Line 200 experience beneficial but can be trained.

About the Role: The successful candidate will manage and develop teams of joiners to deliver high quality installations to our projects

Operating on large joinery schemes you will need to Liaise with commercial teams to ensure efficient delivery of projects.

You must be able to:

  • Effectively manage site staff ensuring that projects are run to schedule.
  • Convey the method of construction to the estimating team during the tender process 
  • Attend pre-start meetings 
  • Ensure timely management of temporary design to meet the requirements of each project
  • Prepare and negotiate the terms of all project agreements and ensure all parties understand both the scope and limitations of the contract 
  • Manage the project in a highly detailed manner to schedule deliverables and accurately estimate costs. 
  • Produce costs for each project prior to starting any works scheduled.
